Harris Jayaraj - jean-baptiste maunier - Clemence Saint-Preux

• One of my friends suggested me to hear the song “Concerto pour deux voix” by Clemence Saint-Preux and Jean-Baptiste Maunier.Its a nice song.(I love this song very much).A must listen for all of us who love good music and voices.

• The song immediately reminds me of the second interlude in “Ava Enna Enna“(Anjala) song from Vaaranam Aayiram by our Harris Jeyaraj sir.I don’t know why?

• The female voice in the second interlude of “Ava Enna Enna” song is identical to Clemence Saint-Preux’s rendering in “Concerto pour deux voix”(Please note i said “Rendering” alone).What do you think?

• “Concerto pour deux voix” is actually an adaptation of “Concerto pour une voix“(Released in 1970) by Saint Preux(Clemence’s father).

Benson - Adam schlesinger - Rahman

• Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na – One of the best albums in 2008.Music by our Master A.R.Rahman.He was Awarded with Filmfare Best Music Director Award for this album.

• “Kahin To” song is everyone’s favorite.Its my favorite too. Such a pleasing song. It always reminds me of “Nothing’s gonna change my love for you” by George Benson.

• Two days Before, I told my friend(Mr.Kamal) that “Kahin To” is somewhat close to “Nothing’s gonna change my love for you“.And he said “No way.There may be a slight resemblance at the prelude.But I prefer George Benson’s song to this one.{Actually He doesn’t like Kahin To song}”.Well, Opinion Differs.

• Last Night I was surprised to see this information in wikipedia page for “Nothing’s gonna change my love for you”.

• “A. R. Rahman reproduced a similar version of this song in Hindi for the film ‘Jane Tu Ya Jane Na’ in 2008.”

Deva - Loreena McKennitt - Yuvan Shankar Raja

• “Engenge Engenge” song from “Nerukku Ner” by Deva is one of my very favorite songs.

• The prelude to the song is something exceptional.But the bitter truth is that the best part of the prelude(What i felt) is actually not deva’s original.It’s taken from Loreena McKennitt’s outstanding piece of music “Full Circle” from the album “The Mask and the Mirror”.

• Every song from the album “Nerukku Ner” by Deva has some shades of inspirations from other composers.Let’s talk about it later.

• Listen to the great piece of music “Full Circle” by Loreena McKennitt here.(Released in 1994).

• Here is the song “Engenge Engenge” from Nerukku Ner by Deva.(Released in 1997).

• Though a small piece(say a sample) from the original is used by Deva for that song, the impact made by that small piece on the song is great (In My Opinion).

• One more interesting thing i forgot to mention-Another song “The Mystic’s dream” from the same album “The mask and the Mirror” by Loreena McKennitt is used by deva for the prelude to “Engenge Engenge”.

• At the start of the prelude to “Engenge Engenge” you can hear a female voice(Low tone) and it is more like Loreena’s “The Mystic’s Dream” if i am right.

• How do you like this music? IMO, “The Mystic’s dream” also reminds me of Yuvan’s background music style(in 7g Rainbow Colony, Kadhal Kondaen or Thulluvadho Ilamai).Whats your opinion guys?

• “Vaarayo Vaarayo” from Aadhavan seems to be inspired from Enrique Iglesias’ “Miss you” from the album “Insomniac”(Year of Release : 2007)

• Yuvan Shankar Raja has come out with a pleasing album “Paiyaa” this year. Though the songs are very catchy, some quantity of “recycling his own tunes” is clear in this album.

• And one more thing, The song titled “Poongatrae Poongatrae” sounds very much similar to “Waiting for Tonight” by Jennifer Lopez.A clear case of Inspiration is visible throughout the song.

• The interesting thing here – “Waiting for Tonight” song is originally tuned or recorded by “3rd Party“(a dance-pop team of 3 members) for their Album titled “Alive” in the year 1997.It was later remade as “Waiting for Tonight” by Jennifer Lopez for her album titled “On the 6″ in the year 1999.

• Oh My God, It’s been a long time since my last post.I am extremely sorry.

• You guys may notice the similarities between “Adadaa Vaa” by Yuvan Shankar Raja and “Un Mela Aasa” by G V Prakash Kumar.They are almost same tunes.

• I happened to hear a song which has a striking resemblance with Adadaa vaa(or Un Mela Aasa).At least to me..What do you think guys?

• The song is “Thoia Thoing” by R.Kelly released in 2003.

• I hope many of you guys like the song “Jumbalakka Jumbalakka” from “En Swasa Kaatrae”.Music by our Master A.R.Rahman.

• Many people claimed that the starting humming from “Jumbalakka Jumbalakka”  is an inspiration from an Italian song, Japanese song and so and so.But its no way a copy or inspiration.Its just a sample loop used by Praveen Mani.

• The rhythm programming for that song was done by Praveen Mani.Hope i am right.

• You can hear a similar humming(somewhat) in the song “Desesperada” from the Album “Sensual Sensual”(released in 1998) by B-Tribe.

• Some Rahman sir fans may know this already.Anyway,I want to share this information with everyone who loves this song.

• I was watching the movie “Robin Hood : Prince of Thieves” last Friday.The background music is really really nice and great.Thanks to my favorite composer Michael Kamen sir.

• There is a song in the soundtrack CD of “Robin Hood : Prince of Thieves” with the title “Wild Times” by Jeff Lynne.

• A small part of the song “Wild Times” sounds very similar to the starting of the song “Vaarayo Vaarayo” from Aadhavan.The similarity lasts for only a very few seconds.It may be a coincidence or Illusion or an inspiration?.Whats your opinion guys?

• Aadhavan has music by Harris Jeyaraj.

• Listen to the song “Wild Times” by Jeff Lynne from Robin hood: Prince of Thieves(Year of Release : 1991) (exactly after 1:15 you can hear a tune similar to “Vaarayo Vaarayo”)

• “Chinna Chinna Aasai” song from the movie “Roja” is one of my all time favorites.Its a very melodious number in reggae style.

• An amazing composition by our master A.R.Rahman(the very 1st film song composed by him.Its a mind blowing number)…

• Especially i love the prelude to the song.It adds a beautiful feel to the whole song.

• I happened to watch the movie “Highlander” this morning.The orchestral score done by Michael Kamen is simply Amazing.

• The opening section of a soundtrack in Highlander is very similar to the best part of the prelude in “Chinna Chinna Aasai”.

• Yes.A very small snippet from the Highlander’s soundtrack is used by our Master A.R.Rahman.Its really interesting..

• The same snippet is used by New Line Cinema as a theme.
