- Is there any connection between “Robin Hood: Men in Tights” sound track and “Muthu: Oruvan Oruvan Mudhalali”?One of my friends told me that there is a connection.
- Robin Hood: Men in Tights (Music by Hummie Mann) got released in July 28 1993.
- Muthu (Music by A.R.Rahman) got released in October 23 1995.
- Hear the soundtrack “Villager’s training sequence” from the movie “Robin Hood: Men in Tights” here.
- Hear the soundtrack “Oruvan Oruvan Mudhalali” from the movie “Muthu” here.
- Do you feel any similarity between the two soundtracks? (At the beginning of both these tracks).
- Shall we call it a coincidence? I think no… The similarity may be due to the instruments (same kind of) used in both the soundtracks. What do you think?

the starting piece may be inspired..

Yes. The starting piece is indeed the same. It has been speeded up a bit. This seems to be the technique adopted when pieces / samples are copied. Don’t do it at the same speed: speed it up a bit or slow it down a bit.
In another forum someone had posted a song from the soundtrack of ‘Jackal’ by Agent Provacateur (sp?). The poster had pointed out that this soundtrack starting had resemblence to the Blue Theme from the latest film, ‘Blue’. When I heard both of these I could see that in Blue Theme the speed and loudness have been brought down a bit but overall it is the same as mentioned!!!
